Welcome to Western Wilderness Adventures, we are a rustic Alberta cabin rentals, lodging, and camping resort, located at the base of majestic Black Mountain in Nordegg, Alberta, Canada. We are a rustic group facility with no power, telephones or running water, only fresh air, beautiful wilderness, relaxation and adventure. When you arrive on site at Western Wilderness Adventures it's like taking a step back in time. If you want to experience the Alberta wilderness the way it was meant to be then this is the place for you. Sit and relax while watching the many different types of wildlife that live in and around our grounds. Even a herd of wild horses is often seen passing through. Standard Trappers Course

The course will cover a minimum of 28 hours of instruction on humane trapping, pelt preparation, sets, regulations and furbearer management. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate that enables the student to purchase either a resident or registered trapping licence for Alberta.

A fee of $675 per student is required to pay for meals, accommodation, and the course. Registration will be on a first register, first pay basis. We will only be registering 10 people per course. Should the course proceed and the candidate cannot attend, no funds will be returned to the student. Ensure you bring a warm sleeping bag, outdoor clothing and personal toiletries.

Basic Survival Course

The Basic Survival Course will teach Students 72 Hour Survival Skills utilizing mainly Kit Items and the Multi-functionality of Kit Items that help effect Self Aid to Include CTC (Core Temperature Control).

This class is not a weekend campout, it is a skill learning and task application of the skills taught. You must complete the tasks and demonstrate competence to obtain certification.

A fee of $385 plus GST per student is required for meals, accommodation and the course.

Television Debut

Watch for Western Wilderness Adventures and Owner William Baker on the new T.V. series The Medicine Line. Host Dave Gaudet Interviewed William about the history of the property, the Wilderness Ghost Hunting Adventures he provides to guests and the many ghosts that walk the grounds of Western Wilderness Adventures. While staying in Cabin 3, Dave Gaudet experienced an amazing Paranormal encounter.
